Summer. A Typhoon spawned in offshore Philippines is on its way to Japan, about to hit Tokyo with full force within a week.
Meanwhile, the helpless, pathetic people are striving in and out of shady and sunny side of their street.
Hugely in debt as he cannot make clean break from gambling, Shinya Sawatari (Junichi Okada) gets his feet wet with ‘bank-transfer’ scam at last. As he does, hustling an old lady for scamming, however, Shinya gets more involved, feeling sympathy for the old lady, unable to tap out her money.
Under such circumstances, Shinya meets a girl, Hisako (Aoi Miyazaki), who frequently goes to a strip joint in order to follow the track of her mother’s long-lost love in full account. Her mother, Naruko (Aoi Miyazaki ? double) had an affair with an unsuccessful comedian (Atsushi Ito) when she was young. Hisako eventually finds her mother’s untold love.
Meanwhile, an idol-crazed Akihabara-habitat, Yusuke (Takashi Tsukamoto) who with all his heart, cheers on 25 year-old TV idol on the verge of getting fired, Mya-ko (Aya Hirayama), goes to an event in which Mya-ko shows up. The event site is half-deserted as usual… But out of the blue, Mya-ko is given a tremendous chance to make a break-through. And the relationship between them is gradually changing.
An elite business man, Ryoko (Tomokazu Miura) meets a charismatic homeless person (Toshiyuki Nishida) called ‘Moses.’ From that day on, Ryutaro starts to admire Moses, dropping everything he has in his life and starting a new life with a card-board house. His life is yet to face another change when he discovers Moses’ untold past.
Seemingly unrelated lives of those ‘shady and sunny side’ people gradually starts to cross over, led by mysterious turns of fate, interweaving the tales, and the story goes on.
As the typhoon hits Tokyo, scattered pieces come together and a moment of miracle falls on to them. And the drama makes another unexpected turn…
